4th of July seems to be the same every year, barbecue, fireworks, and singing the "Star-Spangled Banner" off key. If you want to make it more interesting and patriotic then you have to be a little more active in your celebrations.

Decorate your house and yard with red, white and blue and try to bring the vibe of independence day into your home. Have flags hanging from places that can be seen, and share your excitement with you neighbors as well. You can buy a pack of inexpensive hand flags and pass them out to those who live around you.

Another way to involve your neighbors, friends,and family in the 4th of July celebrations is to throw a backyard party or potluck picnic in the park. All the guests can bring a favorite dish to the soiree, and everyone can have a taste of good home cooking. You can also arrange for there to be sprinklers for kids to have fun in , and group activities to keep the adults busy. Sack races and field sports are also simple additions to the day's events that will keep everyone entertained. Don't forget to have good music playing at all times. That is a definite necessity for having a memorable Independence Day.
